Stellar 8X8 Off-Road performer
The Astra 8×8 is the largest and most heavy duty off-road vehicle in the range, yet can still be driven on the road. Featuring huge ground clearance, a full-time 8×8 system with lockable differentials on all axles, a combination of parabolic front and rear parabolic cantilever suspension and high tensile steel chassis, the Astra can comfortably contend with the most difficult terrain. And, although it may be large and tough, it’s surprisingly easy to drive thanks to its EuroTronic II 16-speed automated transmission or the optional Allison full automatic, while power comes from a choice of either 358kW / 2300Nm or 388kW / 2400Nm Cursor engines. The Astra’s cab may look utilitarian and no-nonsense from the outside, but inside it boasts many of the comfort and ergonomic features used in Iveco’s on-road models. The Astra 8×8 is a well suited to mining and exploration, agricultural, forestry and off-road tipper applications.
